Can I change my course or teacher after starting?
Yes. You can ask for a different teacher every week if you feel their teaching style does not fit your needs. To change your course (for example, from ESL to IELTS), you must talk to the Head Teacher during your first week. Changes depend on your English level, and any changes in fees will be calculated based on our refund rules.
What if I arrive on a date that is not on the school's pick-up schedule?
We encourage students to arrive on our official pick-up dates to get free airport transportation. If you arrive on a different date, you must travel to the campus on your own and will not get a refund for pick-up fees. Also, you must tell the school in advance to make sure your room is ready; an extra cost of 1,000 to 1,500 PHP per night will apply for the extra days.
Do I need to buy a round-trip flight ticket?
Yes. This is a strict rule from the Philippine Immigration office. You must show a return ticket or a ticket to another country when checking in at the airport and when passing customs in the Philippines. If you do not have one, you will not be allowed to travel.
What are the rules of HELP's score guarantee?
For our IELTS Guarantee courses, if you do not reach your target score but follow all the rules (95% class attendance, no behavioral problems, and completing all homework), we will offer you free tuition classes until you reach your score. However, you must still pay for your room, meals, and local school fees during this extra study time.
Can I register for classes if my passport is valid for less than 6 months?
No. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your departure date from the Philippines. If your passport is about to expire, you must renew it before buying your flights and registering for courses.
Can I pay my fees in my country money?
You can pay your tuition and room fees (shown on your invoice) through bank transfers to our partner agencies or authorized school accounts. However, local fees must be paid in cash using Philippine Pesos (PHP) at the school office when you arrive. We recommend exchanging your money before you travel, or bringing USD to exchange at local malls and airports in the Philippines.
How are serious medical problems handled on campus?
We have a clinic on campus with a nurse to help with minor sicknesses. For serious emergencies, our student managers will take you to the nearest hospital. Students must buy international travel insurance before leaving home so that medical costs can be covered by your insurance plan.
Can I go outside the campus on weekdays or weekends?
At our HELP campuses, students are not allowed to leave the school from Monday to Friday. You can only go out on weekends by showing your student ID card.
Does the school offer special meals for vegetarians or allergies?
Our dining hall serves a variety of international dishes (Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Filipino). We always have vegetable dishes and soups for vegetarian students, but we cannot make customized personal meals. If you have severe food allergies (like peanuts or shellfish), please tell your manager on your first day so we can help keep you safe.
Can I bring and use cooking tools in my room?
No. For fire safety, cooking inside dormitory rooms is strictly forbidden. If you break this rule, your cooking tools will be collected, and you will have to pay a fine. The school has a shared kitchen area with hot water and microwaves where you can prepare quick meals or instant noodles.
