1. Is it very cold in Baguio? What kind of clothes should I pack?
Average temperatures range from 18-24°C, dropping to around 15°C (chilly) in the early mornings and evenings. You should pack windbreakers, hoodies, long pants, and a light scarf. Extremely thin summer clothing is not necessary.
2. Is the E.O.P (English Only Policy) strictly enforced?
Extremely strictly. At Baguio, E.O.P is enforced 24/7. Violators face point deductions or campus restriction. This is a key factor that accelerates your progress.
3. How long does it take to travel from Manila Airport to Baguio?
The road trip takes approximately 5 to 6 hours via the modern TPLEX highway. The school offers scheduled airport pickup services.
4. How is the food at the academy? Is the produce fresh?
Baguio is the largest clean produce hub in the Philippines. The school meals always include plenty of fresh vegetables, hot soups, and rotating meat dishes tailored to Asian palates.
5. Is the Wi-Fi and internet connection reliable in the mountains?
The school provides Wi-Fi in common areas (Lounge). However, due to the mountainous terrain and occasional fog, signals can be less stable than in major low-lying cities. This offers a great opportunity to disconnect from social media and focus entirely on your studies.
6. Are students allowed to travel on weekends?
Due to the highly intensive academic schedule, students are only permitted to travel overnight once at the end of each term. On regular weekends, students may only go out during the daytime.
7. What if I get sick or cannot adjust to the climate?
The school has an on-site medical room. If needed, a manager will take you to a major hospital in downtown Baguio. The cool climate is generally very beneficial for health and features far less dust and pollution than Manila.
8. Is there a fee for laundry service?
It is completely free of charge. There is a dedicated laundry area. Because of the cool, humid climate, clothes can take longer to dry, which is why the school is equipped with industrial dryers.
