1. Pick-up Schedules and Airport Meeting Points

HELP Academy arranges pick-up services between 06:00 and 07:00 AM for primary flights departing from Vietnam.

For student pick-up activities (HELP Pick-up service), HELP English Academy arranges pick-ups coordinated with the arrival times of popular airlines such as Cebu Pacific, Vietnam Airlines, and Philippine Airlines:

2. Student Pick-up Process and Options

The pick-up process is established to ensure absolute safety. Students must register in advance so the school can assign staff.

How It Works:

  1. Registration: Students must confirm their participation in the HELP pick-up service at least 7 days before their official start date. Afterward, you will receive a detailed Pick-up Confirmation.
  2. Arrangement: HELP Academy receives flight details, schedules vehicles, and assigns staff in charge.
  3. Meeting: School staff will meet students at the designated assembly point (Bay 6 or Burger King) and guide them to the vehicle to travel to the campus.

Pick-up Service Options:

Depending on personal preferences and the specific campus you are attending (Clark or Baguio), you can choose:

  • Private Pick-up: The school arranges a private vehicle to pick you up immediately upon landing. This option is ideal for students with unique flight times or those who prefer a fast journey without waiting for others.
  • Group Pick-up (Regular): Students assemble and travel together with other international students according to the school's fixed schedule (a more cost-effective option).

3. Pick-up Service Fees

The fees listed below apply to transportation from Manila Airport directly to the school gates.

Private Pick-up (Flexible Schedule)

Designed for students who want privacy or fly on schedules outside the standard group pick-up windows.

  • From Manila Airport to Baguio: 12,000 PHP
  • From Manila Airport to Clark: 5,500 PHP

Regular Group Pick-up (Fixed Schedule)

5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Below are real-world scenarios and common questions from students landing at Manila Airport, supplementing standard schedule details.

What should I do if my flight is delayed or canceled?

Please remain calm and contact your HELP student manager immediately via Zalo/Messenger upon receiving the notification from the airline. Forward your new ticket or updated estimated arrival time so the school can adjust your pick-up schedule.

What should I do if I reach the assembly point but cannot locate HELP staff?

Do not accept rides from unauthorized or unofficial taxis under any circumstances. Stay at your designated meeting point (Bay 6 or Burger King), connect to the airport Wi-Fi or use your 4G SIM card, and call the emergency contact number listed on your Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

Should I buy a 4G SIM card at Manila Airport?

Yes. We highly recommend buying a Globe or Smart SIM card from the booths directly in the arrival hall to stay in touch with your family and school staff. Our pick-up staff can also assist you with this.

Is the exchange rate for Pesos at Manila Airport favorable?

The currency exchange rates at Manila Airport are generally reasonable and secure. You should exchange a small amount (around 50 to 100 USD) into Pesos to purchase a SIM card or buy light refreshments while waiting.

Where can I get food and drinks while waiting for the shuttle?

At Terminal 3, the 4th floor features a Food Court with plenty of options like Jollibee, McDonald's, and 7-Eleven. At Terminal 1, choices are more limited, but you can purchase snacks in the waiting lobby.

Who should I report lost baggage to at Manila Airport?

Go immediately to your airline's "Lost & Found" counter in the baggage claim area to file a report. Keep your claim receipts and contact numbers safe, then inform the HELP pick-up coordinator so the school can help monitor your baggage status.

How long does the journey from Manila to Baguio/Clark take?

The drive to Clark takes about 2 to 3 hours. Baguio is further away, taking approximately 4 to 6 hours depending on Manila traffic conditions and weather.

Can I take a Grab or taxi on my own to the school?

Yes, but the cost will be very high, and there are potential risks if you are unfamiliar with the route. If you decide to travel independently, please thoroughly review the step-by-step guides provided at the beginning of this article.

What type of vehicle does the school use for pick-ups?

Depending on the number of students, the school will arrange a passenger van (9-12 seats) or a tour bus. All vehicles are air-conditioned and ensure a safe, comfortable ride.

What is the maximum amount of cash I can bring when entering the country?

According to Philippine customs laws, you cannot bring in more than 50,000 PHP in cash. For foreign currencies (such as USD), any amount exceeding 10,000 USD must be officially declared to customs.

Conclusion

The airport pick-up service is an essential stepping stone to ensure your study abroad journey in the Philippines starts smoothly and safely. HELP Academy is fully committed to supporting you every step of the way. Please remember to double-check your flight details, prepare your communication options, and register for the service early.
