2. Student Pick-Up Process and Options

Our airport pick-up procedure is established to guarantee student safety from the moment you exit the customs hall until you arrive at your dormitory room.

Step-by-Step Pick-Up Process:

  1. Service Registration: Students must submit flight details and confirm their pick-up registration at least 7 days prior to their departure date listed on the Academic Calendar. You will receive an official Pick-Up Confirmation sheet.
  2. Vehicle & Staff Coordination: HELP Academy assigns dedicated transportation vans/buses and designates pickup staff wearing official HELP uniforms/badges.
  3. Meeting at Assembly Point: Staff welcome students at designated meeting points (Bay 6 or Burger King), verify passports, and guide students to the private shuttle bus.

Available Pick-Up Service Options:

Depending on your flight schedule, and target campus (HELP Clark or HELP Baguio), you can choose:

  • Group Pick-Up (Standard): Students assemble and travel together with fellow international students on fixed weekend schedules (a cost-effective, social option).
  • Private Pick-Up (Flexible): A private vehicle is assigned exclusively to you upon landing. Ideal for late-night arrivals or students who prefer immediate departure without waiting for group flights.
Mandatory Immigration Requirement: All arriving passengers in the Philippines must complete their online health declaration prior to boarding. Please follow our step-by-step eTravel Philippines Guide to submit your declaration and generate your QR code.

4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What should I do if my flight is delayed or rescheduled?

Remain calm and immediately notify your HELP student manager via Zalo/Viber/Messenger using airport Wi-Fi. Send your updated flight details so our pickup team can adjust shuttle arrangements.

2. What should I do if I reach the meeting point but cannot locate HELP staff?

Do not accept rides from unauthorized street taxis. Stay at your assigned meeting location (Bay 6 or Burger King), connect to free airport Wi-Fi, and call the emergency hotline numbers printed on your Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

3. Should I purchase a 4G SIM card at the airport?

Yes. Buying a local Globe or Smart SIM card at arrival hall booths allows immediate mobile internet access during transit. On Monday afternoon, HELP also provides a shopping shuttle to SM Mall for SIM card setup.

4. Is currency exchange available at Manila Airport?

Yes. Exchange booths in the arrival halls offer reliable exchange rates. Convert around $50–$100 USD into Philippine Pesos (PHP) to cover snacks or minor travel expenses.

5. Where can I buy food while waiting for the group shuttle?

At Manila Terminal 3, the 4th-floor Food Court features Jollibee, McDonald's, 7-Eleven, and local cafes. At Terminal 1, convenience stores are available in the main exit lobby.

6. How do I report lost checked luggage at Manila Airport?

Proceed to your airline's "Lost & Found" desk inside the baggage claim area before exiting customs. Keep your claim receipts and inform your HELP pickup manager so our team can follow up with the airline on your behalf.

7. How long does transit take from Manila Airport to campus?

Drive time to HELP Clark Campus takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Drive time to HELP Baguio Campus takes approximately 5 to 6 hours via the TPLEX express highway.

8. Can I travel independently using public transport?

Yes, but public buses require multiple transfers. First-time students are strongly advised to use official HELP pickup shuttles or read our Baguio Travel Guide and Clark Travel Guide carefully.

9. What type of vehicles are used for airport pick-up?

HELP arranges air-conditioned tourist vans (9–12 seats) or dedicated tour buses depending on the student group size, ensuring a comfortable journey.

10. What are the cash limits for entering the Philippines?

Under Philippine customs law, passengers cannot bring more than 50,000 PHP in local currency cash. For foreign currency (such as USD), amounts exceeding $10,000 USD must be officially declared upon arrival.
